Meet Danny - The Listening Dog!

We recently received an email about a very special dog named Danny.

His owner, Tony, explained to us how Danny was helping children all around the UK with their reading. Danny is Pet Therapy Dog, an Education Dog and a Reading Education Assistance dog! He sounds amazing doesn't he?!

Danny spends his days visiting schools where children will read to him. Danny works with children who are disabled or have special needs.

In 2011, Danny was recognised as an "amazing animal" and received an award from The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW).

Danny has been trained with the Reading Education Assistance Dogs (READ) programme, which originated in the United States. This programme aims to help children's reading and communication skills by giving them a non-judgemental audience.

Danny is also helping spread the word to people and explain how much difference dog can make to a childs life. Danny has recently appeared on Sky, BBC,ITV, Fox, PBS and CBS News! He certainly has been a busy boy but it is about to get even busier for Danny & Tony. Danny has been invited to the USA this summer to contine his amazing work there. He will be working with a dog therapy group called Corridor Therapy Dogs, based in Iowa. Whilst he is there, Danny will also be sitting for his very own portrait by a New York artist!
